The Gretna Early Education Center is a private preschool for 4-year-old children in the Gretna Public School District. The Center is staffed by certified Early Childhood Teachers. The program focuses on the unique development of young children, in accordance with the indicators of quality issued by the Nebraska Department of Education.
The Gretna Early Education Center provides: •Teachers certified in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education •Developmentally appropriate learning experiences √ allowing children to develop at their own rate of learning √ encouraging social interaction between 4-year-olds √ providing opportunities for decision making and problem solving √ Active Learning--children learn by manipulation of materials √ encouraging natural interests and abilities √ enhancing a positive interest and excitement for learning • Low adult to child ratio • Access to specialists in Speech Pathology, Special Education, and Physical and/or Occupational Therapy for children with identified special needs. • Continuous training for staff • Programs for parent education and involvement • Eligibility for all 4-year-old children in the District (4 by July 31, 2017) • Tuition is $140 per month
According to Nebraska Department of Education Regulations for Early Childhood Programs (Rule 11), Public Schools are no longer allowed to serve Kindergarten age eligible children (5 by July 31, 2017) in their preschool programs.
